bio | Sara Buraya is coordinator of Coordinator of International Programs of the Department of Public Activities at Museo Reina Sofía, where she focusses her work and research on transfeminisms, institutional transformative practices, urban commons and politics of care.
After studying Art History and getting MA Degree on Contemporary Art and Visual Culture at Museo Reina Sofía, she started working as Assistant coordinator in the Collections Department of the museum (2009-2011). She was Responsible of Communication at Sound-IN, the section of sound art at the fair Estampa (2013).
From 2013 to 2015 she was Coordinator of Cultural Programmes at Museo Reina Sofía, organising international conferences, seminars and coordinating film series. She has been project manager of the Creative Europe programmes The Uses of Art – The Legacy of 1848 and 1989 (2015-2017) and Midstream. New Ways of Audience Development in Contemporary Art (2016-2018). She is member of the European network Institute of Radical Imagination (IRI) and she is part to the research group Somateca.
