Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie is a museum in Warsaw, Poland. It was established in 2005. The Museum opened its new exhibition space (called “the Museum on the Vistula” to differentiate it from the Museum’s headquarters located on Pańska 3 street) in the spring of 2017. The Museum’s involvement in the contemporary world is expressed through exhibitions, publications, and educational and research programs. Their expanding art collection is a record of dynamic phenomena and developments, occurring locally and globally. The Museum is made up of people: the artists, the crew and the spectators. Together they create a space for meetings, mutual inspiration and reflection; moving beyond art and always inspired by it. The Museum is closely tied with Warsaw, its history and inhabitants, all the while actively taking part in artistic life in Poland and abroad. The museum wishes to be useful and to treat art as a means of communication, of discovering and understanding the world. A piece of art in the Museum isn’t just meant for contemplation. It helps to learn social responsibility, dialogue, critical thinking, and influencing reality.
